# IsEqual Method of the Region Object

This method calculates whether the region coincides with the specified region.

## Syntax

### C++

```cpp theme={null}
HRESULT IsEqual(
  IRegion*      Region,
  VARIANT_BOOL* Result
);
```

### C\#

```csharp theme={null}
bool IsEqual( IRegion Region );
```

### Visual Basic .NET

```vb theme={null}
Function IsEqual(Region As IRegion) As Boolean
```

## Parameters

Region

\[in] This parameter refers to the supplied [Region](/fine-reader/engine/api-reference/supplementary-objects-and-methods/region) object which is to be checked for equality with this region.

Result

\[out, retval] Receives the result of calculation. If this parameter is TRUE, the two regions are equal.

## Return values

This method has no specific return values. It returns the [standard return values of ABBYY FineReader Engine functions](/fine-reader/engine/api-reference/return-codes).
