# PageNumber Property of the PlainText Object

This property returns the number of the page on which the specified symbol of the recognized text is located.

## Syntax

### C++

```cpp theme={null}
HRESULT get_PageNumber(
   int  Index,
   int* Result
);
```

### C\#

```csharp theme={null}
int get_PageNumber( int Index );
```

### Visual Basic .NET

```vb theme={null}
Property PageNumber(Index As Integer) As Integer
```

## Parameters

Index

\[in] This parameter specifies the index of the specified symbol in the recognized text.

Result

\[out, retval] A pointer to int variable that receives the value of this property.

## Return values

This function has no specific return values. It returns the [standard return values of ABBYY FineReader Engine functions](/fine-reader/engine/api-reference/return-codes).
