# Email notifications

> Set up email notifications for ABBYY FlexiCapture administrators and users by configuring SMTP settings and notification rules in the Monitoring Console.

  This section is only available to users with System Administrator and Tenant Administrator permissions.

Email notifications let users receive emails about events that occur in the system.

To set up email notifications for an administrator and users of ABBYY FlexiCapture:

1. Open the **Settings** section in the Administration and Monitoring Console.
2. Specify the [SMTP server connection parameters](/flexi-capture/admin-guide/email-notification-smtp) in **Settings → SMTP settings**.
3. Go to the **Settings → Email notifications** page and set up email notifications [in the system](/flexi-capture/admin-guide/email-notification-fc) or [in a tenant](/flexi-capture/admin-guide/email-notification-tenant).
