# Security in ABBYY FlexiCapture 12

ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 is a highly scalable data and document capture system comprising multiple components installed on multiple computers (see the [ABBYY FlexiCapture Architecture](/flexi-capture/admin-guide/architecture-ag) section for a detailed description of its architecture). Various kinds of data that are required or processed by the system are continuously transferred among the components and stored in different locations — databases, file storage systems, temporary folders, and so on
