# Cursor position during field verification

> Set the cursor position during field verification in the Field Verifier window: jump to the first uncertain character or select the whole field for retyping.

You can customize where the cursor is placed during field verification.

In the **Field Verifier** window, select **Tools → Options**, and then open the **Field Verification** tab.

By default, the cursor is placed at the first character of a field. To place it at the first uncertain character instead, select the **Set cursor to the first uncertain character** option.

To retype the entire field, select the **Select whole field** option. This disables the **Set cursor to the first uncertain character** option.
