# Date format

> How date formats in FlexiCapture stations depend on operating system region settings, the UI language, or the universal year-month-day format.

The format of dates (such as batch creation dates, event dates in the event log, and the license expiration date) in FC depends on one of the following:

* The region and language settings of the operating system
* The user interface language of FC

You can change the region and language settings of your operating system using the options in the **Clock, Language and Region** group in the Control Panel. To change the user interface language in FC, select the language from the drop-down list in the upper right corner of the page.

<Warning>
  You can select either British (United Kingdom) or American (United States) English for the user interface. Note that the British UI uses the European day-month-year date format, while the American UI uses the month-day-year format.

In some parts of the UI, dates always appear in the universal year-month-day format regardless of the settings.
