# Administration and Monitoring Console

> Administer ABBYY FlexiCapture from the Administration and Monitoring Console: database connections, Operator permissions, status monitoring, and reports.

<Warning>
  For the correct operation of the Administration and Monitoring Console, make sure that your browser allows the use of JavaScript and pop-up windows.
</Warning>

The Administration and Monitoring Console is used to set up the entire complex and to monitor its operation. It is a web interface, available to users of the Application Server, that provides access to the server through a browser. The console can be opened on any computer that can access the Application Server by typing `https://<ApplicationServer>/FlexiCapture12/Monitoring` in the browser, where `<ApplicationServer>` is the name of the computer on which the Application Server is installed.

## Set up the complex

The Administration and Monitoring Console is launched immediately after the Application Server is installed, enabling the Operator to [establish a database connection](/flexi-capture/project-settings/d-band-fs).

Besides connecting to a database, the Administrator must set up [user access permissions](/flexi-capture/project-settings/roles) and distribute the Operator roles.

<Note>
  The setting up of access permissions and distribution of Operator roles can also be done by the Operators Manager.
</Note>

<Info>
  Permissions for the **Administrator**, **Monitoring Operator**, and **Processing Server** roles apply to all projects, so you can set them up as soon as the database connection is established. Permissions for all other Operators are granted per project — so before you can add those Operators, you must create projects and upload them to the Application Server.
</Info>

Access permissions granted to a Monitoring Operator have the following restrictions:

* On the **Monitoring → Sessions** page, viewing is allowed but deleting sessions is not.
* On the **Monitoring → Batches** page, viewing is allowed but deleting batches is not.
* Viewing the **Settings** tab pages (**Application Server**, **Cleanup**, **Out-of-Processing Documents**, **Event logging mode**, **Users**, **Groups**, **Requests**) is not allowed.

## Monitor the complex

Once the complex is set up, the Administration and Monitoring Console can be used to monitor the operation of the complex — that is, to track its current status and generate reports. Based on the current status, the Administrator makes changes to the configuration or reallocates resources.

The Administrator can review the statuses of Batches, Tasks, Sessions, Current processing status, Event log, and Error log.

To review the statuses, select a project and then select the appropriate item from the **Monitoring** menu. The resulting list can be viewed on screen, printed, or saved in CSV format.

## Reports

Besides monitoring the current status, the Monitoring Operator can generate reports about the operation of the complex:

* **Productivity report** — Assesses the productivity of ABBYY FlexiCapture or individual tenants.
* **Processing report** — Calculates the average processing productivity and the productivity for a specific time period, and then compares it against a larger time period.
* **Operators report** — Evaluates the productivity of each Operator involved in the manual processing stages.
