# Creating a project

> Create a new ABBYY FlexiCapture project from the Project Setup or Administrator Station and decide when separate projects make sense for document flows.

To process different documents as part of a single project, the project must have several Document Definitions. If document flows do not intersect and their processing settings differ considerably, you can create separate projects for them.

To start, you first need to create at least one project.

To create a new project, start the  *(Distributed)* Project Setup station *(Standalone)* Administrator Station and select **File →** New Project....
