# Glossary

> Definitions of key ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud terms, including tenant, application, custom and demo applications, the Cloud REST API, and production tenants.

**ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud** — The cloud version of ABBYY FlexiCapture Distributed. It is deployed in Microsoft Azure and available as a service.

**ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud REST API** — A REST API intended to ease the integration of ABBYY FlexiCapture functionality into third-party applications.

**Application** — A set of functions used to create document processing tasks in an ABBYY FlexiCapture project.

**Cloud REST API website** — A website where ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud users can manage their applications and learn about REST API integration.

**Custom application** — A REST API application created by a Cloud REST API website user. It is connected to a project within the user's ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud tenant.

**Demo application** — A REST API application provided by ABBYY to prospective users who want to evaluate the functionality of the Cloud REST API.

**Production tenant** — A tenant used by a customer to process documents for business purposes.

**Tenant** — An isolated environment within ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud that is managed by a customer. A tenant hosts one or more projects that are used to capture data from certain types of documents.

**Trial tenant** — A tenant provided by ABBYY to prospective customers who want to evaluate ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud.
