# Deleting a Date Field Element

> Pick the Date Field element you no longer need on your machine-readable form and delete it via the Edit menu or shortcut menu in ABBYY FormDesigner.

To delete a **Date field** element:

1. Select the **Date Field** element.
2. Select the Delete item (**Edit →** Delete menu or Delete item from the shortcut menu).
