# Deleting an Anchor Element

> Remove an anchor from a machine-readable form in ABBYY FormDesigner by selecting it and choosing Delete from the Edit menu or the shortcut menu.

To delete an **anchor**:

1. Select an anchor you wish to delete.
2. On the **Edit** menu, select **Delete** (or select the **Delete** item on the shortcut menu).
