# Deleting a Text Element

> Delete a Text element from a machine-readable form in ABBYY FormDesigner by selecting it and using the Edit menu, the shortcut menu, or the Delete key.

To delete a **text** element:

1. Select the **text** element you wish to delete.
2. On the **Edit** menu, select **Delete** (or select the **Delete** item on the shortcut menu or press the **Delete** button on the keyboard).
