# What's New in ABBYY FormDesigner

> What's new in ABBYY FormDesigner: checkmark groups, color form style, empty page layout settings, drag-and-drop page ordering, and field constraints.

ABBYY FormDesigner includes the following new features:

## Form creation

* The new [Group of Checkmarks](/flexi-capture/form-designer/element-checkmark-group) element has been added. Now you can easily create a **checkmark group** of the selected type (Matrix, Table or List) using the [Checkmark Group Creation Wizard](/flexi-capture/form-designer/element-checkmark-group-add) and add the created checkmark group to the form.
* Now you can specify page layout properties for new empty forms. Settings for empty pages are specified on the [Empty page layout properties](/flexi-capture/form-designer/view-options) tab of the **Tools →** [Options...](/flexi-capture/form-designer/view-options) dialog box. Specified settings will apply when creating a [new empty form](/flexi-capture/form-designer/new-form).
* A new **Color form** style has been added. For **color forms**, page background color and colors of elements in the form can be chosen from the palette. Printing color forms is not recommended. The form style can be chosen in the [Page Properties](/flexi-capture/form-designer/page-settings) dialog box and when specifying [Empty page layout properties](/flexi-capture/form-designer/view-options).

## Form editing

* Ability to add a tip for a [checkmark field](/flexi-capture/form-designer/element-checkmark-field-edit) element has been added.
* Pages order in [multi-page forms](/flexi-capture/form-designer/form-multipage) can now be changed by using drag and drop

## Form export

* Now it is possible to [print filled out forms](/flexi-capture/form-designer/print-form-filled) from command line.
* Ability to [fill out forms with data from file or database](/flexi-capture/form-designer/print-form-filled) using element ID has been added.

## Form completion

* You can impose [constraints](/flexi-capture/form-designer/constraints) on the values that can be entered when filling out the form. **Constraints** can apply to the [entry field](/flexi-capture/form-designer/element-entry-field), [date field](/flexi-capture/form-designer/element-date-field) and [numeric field](/flexi-capture/form-designer/element-number-field) elements. You can define constraints for these fields by using **rules**.
