# Configure batch type settings

> Edit and save batch type settings as an Administrator in the Web Scanning Station, including resetting defaults and restricting Operator changes.

<Info>
  This functionality is available only to users with Administrator permissions.
</Info>

The Administrator creates batch types in the Project Setup Station. You can create one or more batch types for each project, and the Web Scanning Station lets you configure the batch type settings available for the selected project.

The Project Setup Station is where you specify the batch type properties related to server-side processing. The Web Scanning Station is where you change the settings related to scanning, forming documents, and sending batches to the server.

The Administrator can edit and save batch type settings. The new settings are saved on the server and can be used by Operators.

To edit batch type settings, select the batch type from the drop-down list and click **Settings** on the **Batches** page. The **Batch type properties** dialog box opens.

Batch type settings are grouped, and each group has its own tab. Each tab provides the following functions:

* **Reset to default** – Resets all modified settings to their default values.
* **Forbid operator to change** – Grants or denies Operators permission to edit the settings while working with the batch. When selected, Operators cannot modify the parameters of the working batch.

For more information about configuring the batch type tabs, see [Batch type properties](/flexi-capture/web-stations/scanning/batch-types).
