# Verify line items

> Verify invoice line items in ABBYY FlexiCapture: continue line items, reanalyze fields, mark items manually, and manage the Line Items data form table.

A **line item** is a set of invoice lines, each corresponding to a purchased product or service. An item typically contains fields such as **Order Number**, **Article Number**, **Description**, **Quantity**, **Unit Price**, and **Total Price**. For more information, see [Captured fields](/flexi-capture/invoice-reader/ir-extractable-fields).

## Search for line items

If line items were identified incorrectly, you can mark the first item manually. The program then uses this information to improve matching next time.

<Info>
  To run the **Continue Line Items** command, specify the country of the vendor or invoice recipient by filling in the relevant fields on the data form.
</Info>

If line items were matched incorrectly, correct the first item:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Enclose the first item">
    Draw a rectangle around the first item.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Mark its fields">
    Mark all fields in the item.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Continue line items">
    Click <img src="https://mintcdn.com/abbyy/XVEmG3cTpHwMKf5X/images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconContinueLI.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=XVEmG3cTpHwMKf5X&q=85&s=dfd06424a80e02c65b089b9599091738" alt="Continue Line Items button" style={{display:"inline-block",verticalAlign:"middle",margin:0}} width="24" height="25" data-path="images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconContinueLI.png" /> **Continue Line Items** on the top panel of the image editor.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The program matches the remaining items automatically, using the position of the first line item and its regions.

If the results are still unsatisfactory, refine the first item that was matched incorrectly:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Adjust the item position">
    Modify the position of the first incorrectly matched item.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Specify its fields">
    Specify the item's fields.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Continue line items">
    Click <img src="https://mintcdn.com/abbyy/XVEmG3cTpHwMKf5X/images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconContinueLI.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=XVEmG3cTpHwMKf5X&q=85&s=dfd06424a80e02c65b089b9599091738" alt="Continue Line Items button" style={{display:"inline-block",verticalAlign:"middle",margin:0}} width="24" height="25" data-path="images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconContinueLI.png" /> **Continue Line Items**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The program matches the remaining items automatically, using the current item and the items above it.

If needed, draw a rectangle that encloses all items, and set the item breakdown with horizontal separators.

## Search for fields in items

If items were matched correctly but not all fields were found, you can manually specify the field-region positions for some items. The program then uses this information to improve matching next time.

To reanalyze the items:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Place field regions">
    Place field regions inside the first item.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Reanalyze line items below">
    Click <img src="https://mintcdn.com/abbyy/M5jnw37NmJ-asKkj/images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconReanalyzeLIBelow.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=M5jnw37NmJ-asKkj&q=85&s=17122db133f6ee27cb6d6216d1608fec" alt="Reanalyze Line Items Below button" style={{display:"inline-block",verticalAlign:"middle",margin:0}} width="25" height="27" data-path="images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconReanalyzeLIBelow.png" /> **Reanalyze Line Items Below** on the top panel of the image editor.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The program matches the fields inside the remaining items automatically, without changing the item positions. It uses the field-region positions inside the first item.

If the results are still unsatisfactory, adjust the fields in the first item where they are placed incorrectly, and then click <img src="https://mintcdn.com/abbyy/M5jnw37NmJ-asKkj/images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconReanalyzeLIBelow.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=M5jnw37NmJ-asKkj&q=85&s=17122db133f6ee27cb6d6216d1608fec" alt="Reanalyze Line Items Below button" style={{display:"inline-block",verticalAlign:"middle",margin:0}} width="25" height="27" data-path="images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconReanalyzeLIBelow.png" /> **Reanalyze Line Items Below** again. The program matches the fields inside the remaining items, using the current item and the items above it.

The **Reanalyze Line Items Below** command requires the following:

* The country of the vendor or invoice recipient is specified (the relevant fields are filled in on the data form).
* The **Has table layout** option is enabled in the Document Definition settings. For more information, see [Basic field properties](/flexi-capture/templates/properties-general).

## Mark items manually

ABBYY FlexiCapture lets you mark items manually.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Enclose the items">
    Draw a rectangle around the items on the image, and select **Line Items** from the drop-down menu.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create horizontal separators">
    Hold the left mouse button, or switch to separator-drawing mode, and create horizontal separators between items.

    <Note>
      To enable separator-drawing mode, click <img src="https://mintcdn.com/abbyy/XVEmG3cTpHwMKf5X/images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconAddVertSep.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=XVEmG3cTpHwMKf5X&q=85&s=6a2f92daded21d128c5f76fe7fab7b57" alt="Add vertical separator button" style={{display:"inline-block",verticalAlign:"middle",margin:0}} width="29" height="26" data-path="images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconAddVertSep.png" /> <img src="https://mintcdn.com/abbyy/XVEmG3cTpHwMKf5X/images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconAddHorSep.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=XVEmG3cTpHwMKf5X&q=85&s=c057c910318f6146ae72294538e44d0a" alt="Add horizontal separator button" style={{display:"inline-block",verticalAlign:"middle",margin:0}} width="25" height="24" data-path="images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconAddHorSep.png" /> on the top panel of the image editor.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Separate columns">
    Some columns can be separated from other fields with vertical separators. Create vertical separators that split columns on the "one field in one column" principle. When you hover over the enclosing rectangle, a plus sign appears; click it and select the column name from the list. The relevant fields are created in the column automatically.

    Some columns (for example, **Description** and **Article**) may share one column on the image. In that case, mark the fields by clicking them or highlighting their regions with the mouse pointer.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create field regions">
    Create regions for the fields of the first item inside the column. As you create field regions for the following items, the program suggests fields based on the previous items.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Work with items on the data form

Line items appear as the **Line Items** table on the data form.

By default, the data form shows only columns whose fields were found on the image, plus any columns an Administrator set to always display in the Document Definition settings.

To choose which columns always appear, even when their fields are not found, click <img src="https://mintcdn.com/abbyy/IFr-A2MDVJd80FDs/images/flexi-capture/EditBatchType.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=IFr-A2MDVJd80FDs&q=85&s=41f838ac8ae7c88389a86901d6d97228" alt="Table column settings button" style={{display:"inline-block",verticalAlign:"middle",margin:0}} width="16" height="16" data-path="images/flexi-capture/EditBatchType.png" /> in the left corner of the table on the data form, and mark the columns in the context menu.

To add or delete items on the data form, right-click the row number and select a command from the context menu: **Add Row Above**, **Add Row Below**, **Delete**, or **Delete All Rows**.
