# Creating a Machine-Readable Form/Line Separator

> Line separators are vertical or horizontal black lines that partition machine-readable forms into logical segments for ABBYY FlexiCapture processing.

A **line separator** is an element of a machine-readable form in the shape of a vertical or horizontal black line.

Line separators are used to partition forms into several logical segments.
