# Service overview
> ABBYY FlexiCapture Reporting Service collects document processing quality data and produces statistics on straight-through processing and verification time.
ABBYY FlexiCapture Reporting Service collects information about the quality of document processing in ABBYY FlexiCapture. This service works with FlexiCapture 12 R3 Update 1 and later and will not work with earlier versions. Starting from ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Release 3 Update 5, the Reporting Service will only be compatible with its corresponding version of ABBYY FlexiCapture.
ABBYY FlexiCapture Reporting Service is only available in ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud via the Web API. For more information, see [Reporting Service for Cloud](/flexi-capture/reporting-for-cloud).
ABBYY FlexiCapture Reporting Service consists of two services:
* A reporting service that collects information about modifications made to documents and calculates statistics for reports.
* A data access service that lets you retrieve data from the Reporting Service via the Web API or a local SMB folder. Please note that the Reporting Service data access component is an optional component and is not installed by default. Please note that the Reporting Service will export reporting data accumulated in the previous day. This means that the first export of reporting data will occur one day after you install and configure the Reporting Service. You can also export reporting data manually at any time using the API (see [REST API data access](/flexi-capture/reporting-service/reporting-data-access-rest-api) for detailed instructions).
Reports generated by the service will show you how many documents have been processed straight through (i.e. without verification), how many documents have been verified, and how much time has been spent on their verification, as well as how the program’s performance has improved over time. Additionally, data collected by the service lets you evaluate the quality of document classification. The current Reporting Service version does not support the following: viewing SLA violations, collecting information for audit trails, comparing field values before and after verification.
The service can be installed separately from ABBYY FlexiCapture and will store all information in a separate database, without affecting the program's performance.
