# About ABBYY Scanning Station

> Overview of ABBYY Scanning Station, the batch scanning client that prepares document images for ABBYY FlexiCapture, with Administrator and Operator modes.

**ABBYY Scanning Station** is an application for batch scanning of large volumes of documents. With ABBYY Scanning Station, you can:

* Manage your scanner: start or stop scanning and adjust its settings.
* Control the quality of scanned images.
* Prepare images for data capture in ABBYY FlexiCapture.

Scanning Stations have two modes: Administrator mode and Operator mode.

## Administrator mode

Use Administrator mode to set up the Scanning Station. All station features are available in this mode.

## Operator mode

Use Operator mode to scan images, check their quality, and export them. Some settings are not available in this mode.
