# Batch Type Wizard

> Batch Type Wizard in ABBYY Scanning Station walks through creating a batch type: scanner source, separation, image processing, export, and scripts.

The wizard walks you through the parameters that define a batch type.

The **Batch Type Wizard** opens when you click **New\...** in the [Batch Types](/flexi-capture/scanning-station/shared/interface/select-batch-type) dialog box.

## Batch type parameters

The **Batch Type Wizard** prompts you to set up the following batch type parameters:

| [Scanner Source](/flexi-capture/scanning-station/shared/interface/scanning-options-page)                        | Choose a hardware or virtual scanner, pick the scanning interface, and set per-batch-type scanning options.                              |
| [Document and Batch Separation Options](/flexi-capture/scanning-station/shared/interface/batch-type-separation) | Set how the Scanning Station separates and names batches and documents, including page-count rules and blank page or barcode separators. |
| [Image Processing Parameters](/flexi-capture/scanning-station/shared/interface/image-processing-options)        | Despeckle, deskew, rotate, and convert images to black-and-white, apply processing profiles, and convert office files.                   |

Once you finish setting up a batch type, you can select it as the current batch type.

## Edit a batch type
