# Rescanning tasks

> Handle rescanning tasks in ABBYY Scanning Station: open tasks from Verification Operators, rescan pages, confirm documents, and send them to FlexiCapture.

If a Verification Operator is not satisfied with the quality of scanned pages, they can send a task to Rescanning. A task to rescan the whole batch or particular documents is sent to ABBYY Scanning Station and added to the rescanning tasks. When a new task arrives, the message `New rescanning tasks are available.` appears on the main [toolbar](/flexi-capture/scanning-station/interface/toolbars).

The Scanning Station loads information about new rescanning tasks from the server when the station starts and when you open the **Rescanning Tasks** dialog box. While ABBYY Scanning Station is running, it updates this information every 10 minutes.

<Note>
  To enable sending tasks to Rescanning, select the **Rescanning** option on the **Project Properties → Workflow** tab in the Project Setup Station.
</Note>

## Open the Rescanning Tasks dialog box

Open the **Rescanning Tasks** dialog box in one of the following ways:

* Click **Rescanning Tasks** on the main toolbar.
* Select **Rescanning Tasks** on the **Tools** menu.

## Change the document or batch type

You can change the type of a document submitted for rescanning. When you change the document type, its registration parameters change accordingly.

<Note>
  If the **Prohibit changing batch type and registration parameters when rescanning** option is selected in [Batch Type Properties](/flexi-capture/scanning-station/shared/interface/batch-type-properties), you cannot change the type at the rescanning stage.
</Note>

When an entire batch is submitted for rescanning, you can:

* Change the batch structure: add or remove documents and pages, and reorder pages in documents.
* Change the batch type in the [Batch Type Properties](/flexi-capture/scanning-station/shared/interface/batch-type-properties) dialog box. The new batch type's settings replace the old ones, and the batch is processed with the new settings.
* Change the values of batch and document registration parameters that are not read-only.

When only part of a batch is submitted for rescanning:
