# Checkmark groups

> Checkmark groups in ABBYY FlexiCapture combine related checkmarks into one field; review their value format and the five property tabs you can configure.

  Group properties apply to all checkmarks belonging to a checkmark group.

The value of a checkmark group is a list of the names of the selected checkmarks separated by a semicolon (;) or an empty string if no checkmarks have been selected.

When you [create a checkmark group](/flexi-capture/templates/create-checkmark-gr), it is assigned default properties. You can change the properties by selecting Properties... from the shortcut menu. The properties modification dialog box comprises five tabs for different groups of properties:
