# Checkmarks

> Review checkmark field properties in ABBYY FlexiCapture, with links to general, data type, recognition, verification, and rule validation settings.

  The properties of checkmarks combined into groups are configured for the entire [checkmark group](/flexi-capture/templates/field-checkmark-gr). If you attempt to edit the properties of a checkmark belonging to a group, a dialog box for editing checkmark group properties will open.

When you create a checkmark field, it is assigned default properties. You can change properties by selecting Properties... in the shortcut menu. The properties modification dialog box comprises five tabs for different groups of properties:
