# Field group

> Field groups bundle related fields in a FlexiCapture Document Definition; configure general properties, group fields, and rule validation in the dialog.

When you [create a field group](/flexi-capture/templates/create-group-field), it is assigned default properties. You can change properties by selecting Properties... from the shortcut menu. The properties modification dialog box comprises three tabs for different groups of properties:
