# Text entry fields

> Configure text entry fields in ABBYY FlexiCapture with links to general, data type, recognition, verification, rule, and custom action property tabs.

When you create a text field, it is assigned default properties. You can change properties by selecting Properties... from the shortcut menu. The properties modification dialog box comprises five tabs for different groups of properties:
