# Using scripts to assemble documents

> Assemble documents with a custom script in ABBYY FlexiCapture by enabling custom assembly rules on the Assembly tab of Document Definition Properties.

To assemble a document using a [document assembly script](/flexi-capture/appendix/scripts/script-assembly), click **Document Definition** on the menu of the Document Definition editor to open the Document Definition Properties... dialog box. On the Assembly tab, select the Use custom assembly rules option. A document assembly script can be executed on its own or in conjunction with the standard assembly check. If you need to edit the script, click Edit Assembly Script....
