# Edit images

> Edit images on the FlexiCapture Verification Station: autocrop, crop, split, invert, rotate, and despeckle pages before sending them for re-recognition.

The Verification Station usually receives processed images. Sometimes, though, an image arrives unprocessed or incorrectly processed. In those cases, you can edit the pages on the Verification Station with the image-editing tools.

Each tool is available as a button on the image window toolbar and as a command in the **Image** submenu of the **Edit** menu (in the main window) or the drop-down menu. Most tools apply to every page you select in the image window.

<Warning>
  Editing an image requires sending its pages for re-recognition. Any changes you made to those pages during verification will be lost.
</Warning>

## Autocrop an image

The **Autocrop** tool finds the page borders automatically and crops to them. It also corrects skew and distortion.

Select one or more pages in the image window, then click the <img src="https://mintcdn.com/abbyy/39LtOHLEp1q7pm1x/images/flexi-capture/Button_autocrop.GIF?s=cf1c6e65edab91ff7a4f1be95e97f5d0" alt="Autocrop button" style={{display:"inline-block",verticalAlign:"middle",margin:0}} width="26" height="26" data-path="images/flexi-capture/Button_autocrop.GIF" /> **Autocrop** button or select **Image → Autocrop** from the **Edit** menu or the drop-down menu.

## Split an image

If a page contains two or more images (several documents, or several pages of one document), you can split it into separate pages, with each part saved as its own page.

Select the page in the image window, then click the <img src="https://mintcdn.com/abbyy/39LtOHLEp1q7pm1x/images/flexi-capture/Button_split.gif?s=311ea2a470b3042c154a2a3e8475926d" alt="Split button" style={{display:"inline-block",verticalAlign:"middle",margin:0}} width="27" height="28" data-path="images/flexi-capture/Button_split.gif" /> **Split** button or select **Image → Split** from the **Edit** menu or the drop-down menu.

A modifier key controls how the page is split:

* No key splits the page into two parts horizontally (the default).
* **Shift** splits the page into two parts vertically.
* **Ctrl** splits the page both horizontally and vertically, into four parts.

## Invert an image
