# Managing tasks

> Manage data verification tasks: track progress, save changes locally, reject a task back to the queue, or send it to Exceptions for a Senior Operator.

The progress of task processing appears in the top-right corner of the page during data verification. It shows the percentage of processed characters out of all the uncertain characters in the task.

During data verification, you can do the following from the links at the bottom of the page:

* **View task properties** – Click **Task properties**. To open the task comment, click **Show task comment pane**.
* **Save changes** – Save your changes on your working station. These changes are not available if you connect to the Data Verification Station from another computer.
* **Send a task to Exceptions** – If you cannot process a task, send it to the Exceptions stage for a Senior Verification Operator.

## Reject a task

Rejecting a task sends it back to the queue. You can either save your changes and publish them for other Operators, or discard them.

When you close the browser, you are prompted to reject the task. To stop processing a task without losing your changes:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Close the browser">
    Close the browser, not just the tab, without rejecting the task.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Request a new task">
    Launch the browser again and request a task from the queue. The task is returned to you with your changes.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  If the Administrator ends the session, the task becomes available to all Operators, and your locally saved changes are lost.
</Warning>

<Note>
  If you have access to several queues in the processing stages, the system selects tasks automatically from all the available queues.
