# Event logging modes

> Choose an event logging mode for ABBYY FlexiCapture: log all events, exclude report data, disable logging, or select specific events in a custom mode.

  This section is only available to users with System Administrator permissions.

The System Administrator can choose which types of events are recorded in the event log.

## Set the event logging mode

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the event logging settings">
    In the Administration and Monitoring Console, click **Settings → Event logging mode**.

  <Step title="Select a logging mode">
    Select one of the following options from the drop-down list:

    * **All events** – the default setting, which works well in most cases. To save space or improve performance when you don't need information about every event, choose a setting that logs less.
    * **Do not log report data**
    * **Do not log anything**
    * **Custom logging mode** – records only specific events. Select this option, and then select the events from the list.

      Custom logging mode is for advanced users. Make sure you know what you are doing, so that the changed settings don't break the reports and statistics gathered for your configuration.

  <Step title="Save the changes">
    Click **Save**.

<Warning>
  Changes to event logging settings are only applied after you restart Internet Information Services (IIS).
