# Work with batches

> Manage batches in the Web Verification Station Batches view: send batches to a processing stage, change priorities, filter the list, and open documents.

<Info>
  Working with Batches view is available only to the Senior Verification Operator role.
</Info>

## About the Batches view

The **Batches** page shows the batches for the selected project, with detailed information for each one. Use it, for example, to send a batch to a processing stage.

Each batch shows the following properties:

* Priority
* Batch name
* Batch type
* Processing stage
* Date and time created
* Number of documents and pages
* Expiration date
* Batch identifier
* Whether the batch has attachments

<Note>
  Any file can be attached to a batch. For example, you can attach a document scan with a description of the batch.
</Note>

## Open a batch for editing

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Batches page">
    On the [Queues page](/flexi-capture/web-stations/verification/queues), click the **Batches** button on the toolbar at the top of the page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the batch to a processing stage">
    In the [dialog box](/flexi-capture/web-stations/verification/send-to-stage) that opens, assign the task to yourself.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set a task parameter">
    Set one of the following:

    * **Priority** – Set the maximum priority for the task. You can then take the task from the [queues view](/flexi-capture/web-stations/verification/queues) with the **Get task** or **Get any task** button.
    * **Comment** – Enter a comment for the task. You can then find the task by its comment in the queue.

    <Note>
      Tasks that are overdue or about to become overdue are processed ahead of the other tasks in their respective queue. The only exception is tasks with **extra-high** priority, which are processed ahead of the overdue batches.
    </Note>

    <Note>
      You can also find the task by the name of the batch associated with the task.
    </Note>
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Batch priority

Batch priority affects the priority of tasks created from the batch documents, which affects the order in which tasks are processed in the queue.

Priority changes made with the **Priority** link affect only newly created tasks. For example, if you change the priority of a batch at the Verification stage, the new priority applies to tasks in all later stages. Tasks already in the Verification stage queue keep their priority.

### Change the priority of several batches

Select the batches in the list, click the **Priority** link at the top of the page, and specify a new priority in the dialog box that opens.

### Increase a batch's priority in the current stage

Click the **Send to Stage** link. In the [dialog box](/flexi-capture/web-stations/verification/send-to-stage) that opens, specify the current processing stage and a new priority for the task.

## Work with the documents in a batch

To open the documents in a batch, go to the [batch documents list](/flexi-capture/web-stations/verification/documents): click the link with the name of the batch. On the page that opens, you can do the following:

* Process a document: click the link with its task identifier.
* Send a document to a stage, edit its properties, or delete it: select the document in the list and perform the action.

## Find batches in the list

Use a filter to display batches more conveniently. You can filter by processing stage, creation date, batch or document identifier, and other criteria.

To apply a filter, select it, enter values (such as the time period, processing stage, or part of the batch name), and click the **Show** button.

If the project contains a large number of batches, they are displayed in groups of 10, 50, or 100. To set the number shown, use the **Show N** drop-down list.

To check for new batches, click the <img src="https://mintcdn.com/abbyy/M5jnw37NmJ-asKkj/images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconRefresh.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=M5jnw37NmJ-asKkj&q=85&s=c8bdee598d8c362df9045006ce37c570" alt="Refresh button" style={{display:"inline-block",verticalAlign:"middle",margin:0}} width="14" height="17" data-path="images/flexi-capture/Verification_iconRefresh.png" /> button. To return to the page where you get tasks from queues, click the **Queue** button.

## Process a specific batch quickly

To find and process a specific batch quickly, find it in the list using a filter, and then do one of the following:

* Click the **Send to Stage** link, and in the [dialog box](/flexi-capture/web-stations/verification/send-to-stage) that opens, set the highest priority for the batch. Operators or stations then process the batch in the current stage as quickly as possible.
* Increase the batch priority in the batch properties or with the **Priority** link. The batch is then processed faster in later stages, because the tasks created from it have high priority.
* Click the **Send to Exceptions** link, switch to the [queues view](/flexi-capture/web-stations/verification/queues), and take the task you want to process yourself.
