# Work with documents

> Work with individual batch documents on the Web Verification Station: start processing, send documents to a stage or Exceptions, and change priority.

<Info>
  The documents view is available only to the Senior Verification Operator role.
</Info>

The documents view lets you work with an individual document in a batch. To open it, go to the [batches list](/flexi-capture/web-stations/verification/batches) and click the batch name. Use this view to see which task and processing stage a document is in, and to:

* Start processing a document.
* Send a document to another stage or to Exceptions.
* Change a document's processing priority.

## Start processing a document

Click the link with the task identifier. On the thumbnails page that opens, correct [document assembly errors](/flexi-capture/web-stations/assembly), and then correct [recognition and data-entry errors](/flexi-capture/web-stations/document-editor) in the document editor.

<Note>
  If the link does not open the task, the task is unavailable: another Operator has it in processing or has postponed it.
</Note>

## Send a document to another stage or to Exceptions

Select the documents in the list and click **Send to Exceptions** or **Send to Stage**. For more information, see [Send to Stage page](/flexi-capture/web-stations/verification/send-to-stage).

## Change document priority

<Note>
  In the documents view, you can change the priority and delete documents only for documents that are out of workflow.
</Note>

Use the **Priority** link to change the priority of several selected documents at once.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select the documents">
    Select the documents whose priority you want to change.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the Priority dialog box">
    Click the **Priority** link.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the new priority">
    In the dialog box that opens, specify a new priority.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Document priority affects the priority of the tasks created from the document, which in turn affects their order in the queue. Priority changes made in the document properties or with the **Priority** link apply only to newly created tasks. Use them to speed up processing at later stages. Tasks already in the current queue keep their priority, because that queue is already formed.

<Tip>
  To raise a document's priority in the current stage, use **Send to Stage**. In the [dialog box](/flexi-capture/web-stations/verification/send-to-stage) that opens, specify the current processing stage and a new task priority. If you set **extra-high** priority and a Processing Station is set up to process entire batches, the whole batch is set to **extra-high** priority.
</Tip>

## Document properties

For each document, the view displays:

* Priority
* Ordinal number in the batch
* Processing stage
* Number of pages
* Total number of characters
* Number of uncertainly recognized characters and characters to verify
* Whether the document has errors
* Document identifier

## Refresh or leave the documents view

* To check for new documents in the batch, click **Refresh document list**.
* To return to the batches view, click **Batches**.
