# DocumentData Element

> The documentData element in Vantage OCR XML output describes general formatting and structure: paragraphStyles and sections that group recognized content.

A **documentData** object describes general formatting properties and document structure. Contains the following elements:

| Element           | Description                                                                  |
| :---------------- | :--------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `paragraphStyles` | Paragraph formatting styles. Contains a sequence of paragraphStyle elements. |
| `sections`        | Contains a sequence of section elements.                                     |
