# Local settings on Scanning Stations

> Let Operators manage their own batch types and export destinations, instead of inheriting them from the Administrator.

Use **local settings** when you want Operators to work independently — creating their own batch types and choosing their own processing and export options, rather than inheriting everything from the Administrator.

## Who does what
