# Uploading ID documents

> Upload identity documents like ID cards and passports to ABBYY Vantage from a mobile device using the dedicated camera mode in the Mobile Upload micro app.

Identity documents, such as ID cards or passports, can be uploaded to ABBYY Vantage using additional camera functionality available in the micro application.

  Only one identity document can be uploaded in one transaction regardless of the selected skill.

## Upload Process

To upload identity documents:

1. [Start the mobile upload](/vantage/quickstart/uploading-from-mobile#starting-mobile-upload).
2. Take a photo of an identity document:
   * **For ID cards**: Position the front side of the ID card within the frame on the screen. Follow the tips that appear on the screen until the image is automatically captured. Repeat for the back side of the ID card.
   * **For passports**: Position the passport so both facing pages fit within the frame on the screen. Follow the tips that appear on the screen until the image is automatically captured. If necessary, repeat for the following pages.
3. Review the images on the **Review** screen. If necessary, recapture some pages. For more information, see [Reviewing and Editing Document Images](/vantage/quickstart/reviewing-and-editing).
4. Once all the images have been captured and reviewed, tap **Upload**. Your mobile device will display a message with the upload status. The images that have been uploaded successfully will be deleted from your device.
