You developed an application for Linux using the ABBY FineReader Engine (FRE) functions inside and you want to distribute this application. In this case, you need a Runtime License for distribution.
If you plan your application to work locally on a single computer, you must have a Standalone Runtime License. If your applications work in a network, you will need a Network Runtime License.
The Runtime License should correspond to the Customer Project ID with which your application was compiled. Customer Project ID is passed to the methods which load FineReader Engine as one of the input parameters. Distribution of applications using the ABBYY FineReader Engine library includes two steps:
  1. Installing the application and the ABBYY FineReader Engine library on the local disk of the workstation
  2. Activating the ABBYY FineReader Engine Library with the Runtime License
You may run ABBYY FineReader Engine inside native environments:
  • Use two separate Docker containers: with FineReader Engine and the Licensing Service.
