Finish processing your current documents

Wait until no documents remain in processing.

Back up your database and file storage

For more information, see Create an ABBYY FlexiCapture backup.You can restore your system from this backup at any time.

Install the latest version of ABBYY FlexiCapture 12

Install it on every machine that runs FlexiCapture Servers or Stations.

Connect your existing database

  1. Start the Administration and Monitoring Console of ABBYY FlexiCapture 12, select Settings → Application server, and click Connect to Existing Database.
  2. Specify the database server name, the database name, and the path to the file storage location used by your earlier version, and then click OK.

Upgrade your projects

Open each project from the Application Server on the Project Setup Station, one at a time. Opening a project upgrades it to the latest version.You can also upgrade projects with the UpgradeProject command.

Resume processing while projects are still updating

You can resume processing as soon as the new version is installed, even while some projects are still being updated. ABBYY FlexiCapture takes tasks from fully updated projects first. To find out which projects are still waiting, use the CheckProjectsVersion command.
