# Operating a configured project

> Operator roles and processing stages in ABBYY FlexiCapture, from scanning and verification queues in distributed mode to four standalone toolbar stages.

Documents go through various processing stages. When creating and setting up a project, you should specify at which stages and under what circumstances Operator control or error correction is required. For these stages, task queues are created. Additionally, a special exceptions queue is available for problem documents.

Operators are users of the system that monitor the processing and correct errors in documents or in batches. The table below lists ABBYY FlexiCapture Operators and the stations and queues available to them.

Operators start their corresponding stations and perform the required operations in accordance with the access permissions granted to them.

Before the Operator can start processing documents, the project has to be configured by the Administrator. Document processing can be configured in such a way as to require minimum involvement from the Operator in the operations of image scanning and import, data recognition and export. In this case the main stage of the Operator's work is checking and correcting recognized data **verification**.

The Operator's work is not affected by the type of document.

Document processing consists of four stages, and each stage has a corresponding button on the toolbar.
