Publishing a new version of a Document Definition does not delete the earlier versions, because documents in the project may still be using them. Old and unused Document Definitions therefore accumulate over time, as their documents are deleted and newer definitions replace them. The CompactProject command clears those out and frees file storage space. What the command does depends on where the project is stored:

For a local project, running the CompactProject command has the same effect as clicking Project → Compact.
For a project stored on a server, CompactProject deletes unused Document Definitions and their related files. This covers both the working and the training batches.

The latest versions of Document Definitions are never deleted.

Parameters

Parameter	Type	Description
`/Project`	Optional	Specifies a project. You can specify the full path to a local project, the path to a project on a server, or the name of a project on a server (the `/Server` parameter must be specified). If no project is specified, the command compacts all the projects on the server.
`/Server`	Optional	Server address.
`/U`	Optional	User name. If no user name is specified, Windows authentication is used.
`/P`	Optional	Password.
`/Tenant`	Optional	Tenant name.
`/Cert`	Optional	Certificate thumbprint used for mutual SSL authentication. This key is used to pass an encoded certificate hash for a server with Mutual SSL installed as a string.

CompactProject /Project="https://FCSRV/1/SingleEntryPoint" /U=user /P=password – Compacts the SingleEntryPoint project on the FCSRV server
