You set up the Processing Server in the Processing Server Monitor, an application installed automatically with the server.

Set up the Processing Server

Launch the Processing Server Monitor

Select Start → All Programs → ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Servers → Processing Server.

Add the server

Select Actions → Add Server.

Provide the Application Server path

Select Actions → Properties and provide the path to the Application Server.

Start the Processing Server

Select Actions → Start.
To start the Processing Server, the Administrator must grant permissions to the account under which the server runs.

Add and set up the Processing Stations

Create the list of Processing Stations, specify their properties, and start them:
  1. To add a station, go to the Stations node in the Processing Server tree and select Actions → Add Stations.
  2. To set up a station, select it in the list of stations and choose Properties from its shortcut menu.
  3. Specify the required station parameters, such as launch, priority, and allowed task types.

Create station groups (optional)

To create a station group, select Station groups in the tree and click Add station group. In the dialog box that opens, specify a group name and select the stations.
The maximum number of simultaneous processes (Maximum number of processes field) cannot exceed the allowed number of processes (Allowed number of processes field). The total number of simultaneous processes across all Processing Stations cannot exceed the number allowed by your license. If you try to start more stations, they will not run.
Generally, the Processing Stations and the Processing Server can run under different accounts. However, by default, or when they are started under the Network Service, the Processing Stations run under the same account as the Processing Server. The Processing Server grants permissions to the stations when they connect to it.
System time on the Processing Server and the Processing Stations must be synchronized. If the difference in system time is greater than 24 hours, the Processing Stations will not start.

Track task status

The task list shows the task type (import from a Hot Folder, preprocessing, or export), the start time, the batch name, the progress, the status, the priority, the author, the name of the station where the task runs, and the path to the project. The status Successfully indicates that the task completed without errors. If an error occurs, the task receives the status Failed. The status is also shown as an icon next to the task name.
If information messages, warnings, or errors appear during a task but the task is still considered successful (the problems are not critical), you can track such tasks by their icons. For example, this can happen if a non-obligatory export fails because access to the data receiver was denied.
The View Log item opens a window with detailed information on every action ABBYY FlexiCapture performed while processing a selected task. For example, you can trace how a Document Definition is selected during recognition, or examine information messages and warnings. To save the list of all events as a text file (.txt), select Export List. By default, the Processing Server Monitor deletes information about successfully completed tasks from the task list automatically. In the File → Settings dialog box, you can configure how tasks are displayed and deleted. To keep full statistics of task execution, clear the Remove completed tasks from the list option.
