You can use ABBYY FlexiCapture classification in the following scenarios.

Automatic sorting of incoming documents

FlexiCapture separates documents of one type from another and forwards each type to the department responsible for it. For example, when a stream contains both invoices and contracts, FlexiCapture routes invoices to accounting and contracts to the legal department, so neither team is slowed down by misplaced documents.

Page assembly followed by sorting

Scanned pages arrive without being assembled into documents. Classification classifies the pages, and then FlexiCapture assembles the classified pages into documents and determines the type of each document. Because no classification technology is 100% accurate, documents classified with low confidence must be checked by an operator. Alternatively, capture data from low-confidence documents and run data checks. Documents that pass the checks are treated as correctly classified.

Detection of documents that need processing

FlexiCapture detects documents of certain types within a file that holds many documents. For example, a PDF for a mortgage application may contain a passport, an application form, and a bank statement. Classification quickly finds the relevant pages for data extraction, and the remaining pages are saved to a searchable PDF file.

Support request processing

FlexiCapture classifies support requests by content (new payment details, bounced payment, loss of a credit card, and so on), separates urgent requests from non-urgent ones, and forwards each to the responsible manager. It also identifies requests that can receive an automatic reply.
