After FlexiLayout Studio formulates a hypothesis (that is, detects the object that best matches the description provided in the element), it draws the region of the element on the image.
Hypothesis regions
A region is an area on the image consisting of several rectangles drawn to enclose the object. The region of a null hypothesis is the entire search area of the element.
Maximum number of hypotheses
The search area of an element may contain several objects that match the description contained in the element, so FlexiLayout Studio can formulate a hypothesis for each one. When you describe an element, you can specify the maximum number of hypotheses, which limits the number of candidate variants FlexiLayout Studio considers when looking for objects described by the element.
Hypotheses for the elements that come next in the tree are formulated on the basis of the best hypotheses for the preceding element.
Set the maximum number of best hypotheses for a particular element in the element’s Properties dialog box (General tab). For simple elements, the default value is 5. For Group elements, the default value is 1.
Avoid changing the default maximum number of hypotheses.

The quality of a hypothesis depends on the properties of the corresponding elements.
