How hypotheses are generated and assessed
Hypotheses for Table elements
Table element hypotheses in ABBYY FlexiLayout Studio: detection via separators and white gaps, plus properties of table header, footer, and body parts.
FlexiLayout Studio looks for tables and divides them into columns and rows by relying on the Separators and White Gaps on the image. Table headers and footers also help detect the table, serving as the top and bottom boundaries for table bodies. No information is extracted from them.
The header contains the column names, which FlexiLayout Studio can use to divide the table into columns. Once a table is detected, FlexiLayout Studio formulates hypotheses for the entire table element, its columns, rows, and cells.
