Toolbar in the image layout window

The toolbar in the image layout window is used to create static elements and Document Definition fields. The set of buttons on the toolbar changes according to the selected mode. In Static Elements mode:

This toolbar can be docked horizontally or vertically. The orientation of the toolbar can be changed under View → Layout Toolbar.

General tools

Auto Detect ObjectsAuto Detect Objects iconAutomatically detects objects on the image. Select this tool and then left-click in the object region.
Select RegionsSelect Regions iconHighlights regions of objects that have been marked on the image. To highlight a region, select this tool and left-click in the object region.

Static Elements mode tools

Create AnchorCreate Anchor iconCreates an anchor. Select this tool and then use the mouse to frame the anchor with a rectangle.
Create SeparatorCreate Separator iconCreates a separator. Select this tool and then use the mouse to frame the separator with a rectangle.
Create Anchor TextCreate Anchor Text iconCreates an anchor text. Select this tool and then use the mouse to frame the text with a rectangle.
Create Anchor BarcodeCreate Anchor Barcode iconCreates an anchor barcode. Select this tool and then use the mouse to frame the barcode with a rectangle.

Field Regions mode tools

Create BarcodeCreate Barcode iconCreates a barcode field. Select this tool and then use the mouse to frame the barcode with a rectangle.
Create PictureCreate Picture iconCreates a picture field. Select this tool and then use the mouse to frame the picture with a rectangle.
Create TableCreate Table iconCreates a table field. Select this tool and then use the mouse to frame the table with a rectangle. Additional table marking buttons will appear on the toolbar.
Create GroupCreate Group iconCreates a field group. Select this tool and then use the mouse to frame the field group with a rectangle.
Create Region for Field without RegionCreate Region for Field without Region iconCreates a region for a field that is included in the document structure but does not have a region on the image. Select this tool and then use the mouse to frame the field region with a rectangle. Select a name from the dropdown list. (The list shows names of fields that do not have a region on the image).
Create Unrecognizable RegionCreate Unrecognizable Region iconHighlights a field that will be excluded from the recognition process.

Table marking tools

These buttons appear only if at least one table has been created in the Document Definition section.
