Logging In
Open ABBYY Vantage Advanced Designer and log in using the same login and password that you use to connect to ABBYY Vantage.
Managing Connections
To switch to another instance of Vantage, use the New Connection command from the Show user profile menu. In the authentication dialog box that opens, enter the address of the new Vantage instance, your login, and password.
To switch between active connections, select the desired URL from the Show user profile menu. To close active connections, use the Log Out command.
Language Settings
To change the interface language, use the Interface Language command from the Show user profile menu. You will need to restart Advanced Designer for the change to take effect.

Installation Requirements
ABBYY Vantage Advanced Designer can be installed by any user regardless of their current permissions. However, additional installation options are available to users with administrative permissions (see the Additional installation options section for details).
Updates
Advanced Designer automatically checks for updates each time the application is launched. If a newer version is available, a notification will appear with a link to the download page.
By default, only one version of Advanced Designer can be installed on a machine. Installing a newer version will uninstall the existing version, even if a different installation directory is selected.
Running Multiple Versions
To run two versions of Advanced Designer (for example, version 2.7 and version 3.0) on the same machine, follow these steps:

Before installing the latest version of Advanced Designer, navigate to the existing installation folder (default location):
C:\Users\<UserName\>\AppData\Local\Programs\ABBYY\Vantage\AdvancedDesigner

Rename the AdvancedDesigner folder to the current version (for example, to
AdvancedDesigner_2_7).

Install Advanced Designer version 3 using the latest release available here: https://vantage-us.abbyy.com/ad/latest
Note: The button in top right corner lets you switch versions.
Because the original folder was renamed, the installer will not overwrite the previous installation.

Create a new Windows shortcut pointing to the executable file inside the renamed 2.7 folder.
Version Compatibility
If you attempt to connect to Vantage using an incompatible version of Advanced Designer, a link will be displayed inviting you to install a compatible version.
