Skills created in Advanced Designer versions prior to 2.2 can be upgraded to a new Technology Core version. Without doing so, these skills can still be used and edited; however, some features will not be available, including classification by company, neural networks training, script rules, and several other features implemented in version 2.2. After a skill is upgraded, activities trained in previous versions must be trained again. We recommend making copies of all relevant skills before upgrading. To upgrade a skill to a new Technology Core version, do the following:
  1. Open the skill in Advanced Designer.
  2. Open the skill Settings by clicking the settings button next to the name of a skill.
  3. In the Technology Core Version drop-down menu, select the most recent version and click Apply.
  4. Navigate to the Activities tab. You will need to train each activity trained using an earlier version again. Select marked activities in the processing flow, navigate to the Activity Editor, and launch training using the Train Activity button.
  5. Review matching elements in Extraction Rules activities and modify search elements (if necessary), since new versions of the technology core use updated OCR technology that may affect the data extraction results.
