New features
- Anthropic LLM connections – Connect Vantage to Anthropic Claude models for prompt-based extraction, configured under Configuration → Connections with an API key.
- Mistral AI LLM connections – Connect Vantage to Mistral AI models for prompt-based extraction, configured under Configuration → Connections with an API key.
Improvements
Self-hosted
- The Analytics (reporting) feature requires a Microsoft SQL Server database and is disabled by default on self-hosted deployments. To show the Analytics screens and routes, use Microsoft SQL Server and set
reportingEnabledtotruein the deployment configuration. This prevents an empty Analytics tab on deployments that use PostgreSQL. Vantage Cloud is unaffected.
Skill Designer
- Editing a field label is now quicker and easier to discover. You can single-click a field label to edit it, instead of double-clicking, and a dashed border marks the label when you hover over it and while you edit. For a group or table field, the group expands and collapses only from its expand/collapse icon, so a click on the label always opens edit mode.
Fixes
Document Skills
- Fixed an issue in the Add Document Skills dialog (used when connecting a classification step to an extraction step in a Process skill) where selecting the root-level select-all checkbox with a search filter applied did not correctly select the filtered results. It now selects the filtered results as expected.
User Interface
- Fixed an issue where the embedded Getting Started video in Vantage was out of date. The Getting Started button in the actions panel on the Documents tab now opens the current video, ABBYY Vantage: Getting Started with Document Processing.
Documentation updates
- Added LLMs in ABBYY Vantage, which explains how Vantage uses large language models for AI-powered extraction, covering LLM connections, prompt-based extraction, supported providers, data handling, and cost.
- Added Supported LLM providers and models, which lists the LLM providers Vantage supports for prompt-based extraction, with each provider’s connection fields and example models.
- Added the ABBYY Vantage Connector for Blue Prism, which adds Vantage document classification and data extraction to Blue Prism processes through the ABBYY Vantage Skills business object and its actions.
- Added the ABBYY Know Your Customer (KYC) Agent, which automates identity verification and KYC compliance on IBM watsonx Orchestrate, powered by ABBYY Vantage and ABBYY Timeline.
- Added the ABBYY Vantage Connector for Microsoft Power Automate, which adds Vantage document classification and data extraction to Power Automate flows through a custom connector.
Known issues
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may warn that the Advanced Designer installer isn’t commonly downloaded
When you download Advanced Designer 3.0.143 on Windows, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may warn that the fileisn't commonly downloaded. This is expected and does not mean the installer is unsafe or the release is broken.
The Advanced Designer Windows app is now signed with a new certificate. SmartScreen builds its reputation against the specific signing certificate rather than the publisher, so a new certificate starts with no reputation and the warning can appear until that reputation rebuilds. Microsoft documents this as expected behavior. For more information, see Microsoft’s guidance on SmartScreen application reputation.
Reputation rebuilds on its own as more people download and install the file cleanly. There is no manual action ABBYY can take to speed this up, and Microsoft notes it can take several weeks and a volume of clean installs before the warning stops appearing.
Workaround: In Microsoft Edge, keep the flagged download and run the installer.
1
Open the download's More actions menu
In the browser downloads list, point to the flagged Advanced Designer download and open the … (More actions) menu.
2
Choose Keep
Choose Keep.
3
Choose Keep anyway
In the confirmation dialog, expand the options next to Delete, and then choose Keep anyway.
4
Run the installer
Open the downloaded file and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
Antivirus software that actively blocks or quarantines the installer is a separate matter, not this SmartScreen warning. If antivirus blocks the file, report it to ABBYY support rather than treating it as this known issue.
