Store project files (such as documents and Document Definitions) in a dedicated File Storage folder. Specify the folder in the Administration and Monitoring Console, and locate it on the same computer that hosts the Application Server. Specify the local path (for example, c:\...), not the network path (for example, \\server\...). If you do not specify a File Storage folder, FlexiCapture stores the project files in a database.
Storing files in a database can load SQL Server significantly, because the images being processed usually occupy a lot of space. For this reason, avoid storing project files in a database, although you can store demonstration project files there.
The size of the File Storage folder depends on the images being processed. Estimate the required size roughly as average size of image × number of images × 2.
This formula does not apply to formats that use vector graphics, specifically PDF. During processing, FlexiCapture converts vector images to a raster format, which significantly increases their size.
