| Administration and Monitoring Console | A web interface that controls the Application Server, accessed at https://<ApplicationServer>/FlexiCapture12, where <ApplicationServer> is the computer on which the Application Server is installed. After installation, use it to establish a database connection and grant Operators the appropriate permissions (this is done by a user with Administrator permissions). During processing, use it to obtain statistics and generate reports. |
| Project Setup Station | Creates and sets up a project. The Operator creates Document Definitions and batch types, and defines the order of processing. After the system is set up, the project is uploaded to the Application Server and document processing can start. |
| Scanning Station | Often the first station the documents reach. The Operator creates batches, adds document images to them, edits the images if needed, and sends the batch to ABBYY FlexiCapture for further processing. A Scanning Station is not required when images arrive from a Hot Folder. |
| Processing Station | Runs unattended and gets images from Hot Folders, applies Document Definitions, recognizes documents, validates rules, and exports the results to user-defined destinations. |
| Data Verification Station | Checks the captured data. The Operator first reviews unreliably recognized characters in group view, then in field view, and sends the batch to the Verification Station. On a processing error, the Operator can send the batch or documents to the exceptions queue for the Senior Verification Operator. |
| Verification Station | Performs more complex checks than the Data Verification Station. Besides data checks, it can process problem batches or documents, correct assembly errors, check rules, and check batch integrity. |
| Processing Server | Distributes the workload among the Processing Stations. A Processing Server Monitor is installed with it to monitor the server and set task priorities. |
| Application Server | Connects the stations and ensures their operation. Before installing the server, make sure all the components required for its normal operation are installed. |
| Database Server | Stores the data required for processing: information about Operators, batches, events, and so on. For demo projects, you can use Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition. For other projects, use the full version of Microsoft SQL Server together with a File Storage Folder. |
| File Storage Folder | Holds project files that are not stored in the database. It is a regular folder on the computer where the Application Server is installed, and it is set up in the Administration and Monitoring Console. |
| Licensing Server | A protection key is required for the system to run. ABBYY FlexiCapture License Manager manages the protection keys. |
