Automatic database cleanup - ABBYY Documentation

The latest version of the ABBYY FlexiCapture Reporting Service supports automatic database cleanup. Cleanup is enabled by default, and all cleanup events are logged.

How the cleanup works

To purge outdated records, the service partitions the database and then truncates certain partitions. One partition holds one month of data. The service periodically checks whether any partitions are old enough to truncate, and starts the cleanup where appropriate.

Cleanup parameters

Set data retention times and other cleanup parameters in the AppSettings section of the appsettings.json file. By default, this file is at C:\inetpub\wwwroot\FlexiCapture12Reporting\.

Parameter	Description
CheckPartitionsPeriodSec	How often the service checks for outdated partitions, in seconds. The default value is 6 hours. Set it to `0` to disable cleanup.
ReservedPartitionsCountMonths	The number of partitions to reserve. The default value is `6`. When the database is first created, the service reserves partitions for the current month and the 6 months that follow it.
DataStorageIntervalMonth	How long to retain the data, in months, including the current month. The default value is `2`. No data is deleted from the active partition that is currently accepting data.
