You may need to check document sets for completeness before they go through all the processing stages in ABBYY FlexiCapture, for example to confirm that a customer has submitted all the required documents. If you have only a Scanning Station installed, you can check document sets immediately after scanning. To set up this check, assemble the document images into documents based on their types, either manually or automatically. Then assemble the documents into document sets and specify the type of each document and document set. Before a batch is sent to its destination, the Scanning Station checks that it contains the required number of documents of each type.

Configure document set checks

In the Batch Type Properties dialog box, specify the document types the batch should contain and the expected document count, and then select the Check document types and count option. For more information, see Document Types.
If some document types are optional and should not affect the check, set the minimum number of documents of that type to 0 or leave the field empty.

Assemble documents

After scanning, the images can be separated automatically into batches and documents using the settings specified in the Batch Type Properties dialog box, for example by using barcodes or the number of pages in each document. You can adjust incorrectly assembled document sets and documents by dragging documents with the mouse or by using the Create Document and Disassemble Document commands. The Create Document command can be applied only to selected documents that immediately follow one another.

Assign document types

Document types can be created manually on the Scanning Station or imported from ABBYY FlexiCapture. If the documents will be processed in ABBYY FlexiCapture, import the relevant document types from it. This ensures that each document type on the Scanning Station has a matching Document Definition in FlexiCapture, and the section and document counts are imported as well. After importing, you can still adjust the document types, for example by changing the document count for a type.
You can assign document types at any time during assembly. However, it is best to assemble separate images into documents first, assign the document types next, and only then form document sets.
For instructions on specifying document types, see Specify a document type.

Run the check before sending a batch

If the Check document types and count option is selected for a batch type, the Scanning Station checks the batch before it is sent to its destination. If the batch passes the check, it is sent. If it fails, it is not sent, and an error message appears, for example stating that a document of a certain type is missing. Correct the error, for example by scanning or loading the missing documents, and then send the batch again.
