Scanner settings
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Resolution (drop-down list) | Sets the resolution of scanned images. Use higher resolutions for small-font text. |
| Color mode (drop-down list) | Color mode for scanning. Gray mode works best for OCR. |
| Compression (drop-down list) | Compression for scanned images. |
| Rotation (drop-down list) | Rotates scanned images. |
| Color dropout | Removes a specific color from scans. Choose Red, Green, Blue, or None. None keeps all colors. |
| Brightness (drop-down list) | Switches between automatic and manual brightness adjustment. To change the level manually, move the slider below the drop-down list. |
Paper settings
| Option | Description |

| Paper size (drop-down list) | Paper size for scanning. |
If none of the suggested paper sizes suits your needs, choose Custom… from the list and specify the height and width in the Custom Paper Size dialog box.
Multi-page scanning
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Use automatic document feeder (ADF) | Select if you’re using an ADF-equipped scanner. |
| Duplex scanning | Select for duplex (two-sided) scanning. |
| Pause for N seconds after each page | Pause for the specified number of seconds between pages. Enter the interval in the adjacent input. |
Actions
- Preview — scans a single page and shows it in the preview window above the button, so you can check settings before a full run.
- Close — returns to the scanner profile properties.
